Changed regulation for the protection of agricultural land

Among other amendments, the Government – aiming at reorganizing the agrarian administration – changed the Act LV/1994 on the agricultural land as well.

The Governmental decree No. 338/2006 (XII. 23.) „On the land offices, the Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing, the Board of Geographical Names and the detailed rules of land registration procedures” stepped into force on 1st January 2007. Chapter 2 of the decree determines the circle of specialized authorities cooperating in the land protection procedure.  As provided by par. 16. b), when somebody applies for a permit of using agricultural land temporarily to other purpose, from now on, also the inspectorates for protection of environment, nature and water as authorities of landscape protection will participate in the permitting procedure.
