MODERNISATION PROCESS OF THE  LAND OFFICES IN HUNGARY
1990-1998

This retrospective report contains both background information and new facts about the current state-of-art of the land office network. It gives details on the relevant events and significant results of eight years from 1990 to 1998; the features of the modernisation strategy; the development and perspectives of the land registration sector. This strategy – being in line with the reform of public administration initiated by the Government – was approved on ministerial level in 1996. The very strategy forms the basis of the agreed co-operation with the associated ministries and other institutions interested in using land registration data. During the implementation phase, the strategy was slightly modified according to the current conditions.
